Mumbai Results 2011- All TYBCom students of Chinai college fail tests
The 37 students who took the third-year Bachelor of Commerce (TYBCom) exam from Chinai College, Andheri, have failed the tests. The Mumbai University declared TYBCom results on Wednesday. According to the students, they flunked the tests as their college did not allow them to take the
practical exams.

Citing lack of attendance as the reason, the college had refused to issue hall tickets to the students in March.

Following an agitation by the activists and students, the university directly issued hall tickets to the students of Chinai College.

“The authorities never listened to us. They just wanted to shut the college,” said a student requesting anonymity. “Had it not been for the practicals, there is no way I could have failed the exam.”

“The papers were quite easy and I was confident about my performance.”

Students are now worried their future. “We have no clue what to do now?” said another student. “We will be approaching the university on Friday to check how they could help us out. If they too fail to help us out, we will lose our one year.”

College authorities said the matter was not in their hands as the university allowed the students to take the exams as distance education candidates, without informing the college of its decision.

“The university allowed the students to appear for the exams without our knowledge,” said Malini Johri, principal of the college. “They did not consider it necessary to inform us. Now, we cannot help the students.”

The college has been in the eye of a storm since June 2007, when the management spoke of shutting it.
